Master B

I attended Bernd’s MBA graduation on Friday. One of the nice things about Bernd’s school is that it’s so small. There were only seven MBA graduates at his graduation. Bernd knew all of them of course which makes it a little more special. Also our good friend Jerusha graduated with Bernd which was fun. It was great to share this moment with both of them. We didn’t know any of the 60 BCSC graduates this time which was ok.

I am so proud of Bernd. He has worked so hard to get through school so quickly. After he finished his Bachelors he wasn’t planning on going back to school so quickly. However he got a full scholarship for his MBA which he couldn’t pass up. He has accomplished so much and he is only 25. I am so grateful for Bernd’s desire to better himself and get ahead. I don’t think he will ever stop learning even though he is done with school now.

The Keynote speaker was Bruce Eckel, President of MindView Inc. I thought he did a great job. He was talking specifically to the graduates and I thought he gave some great, practical advice to them. He said that 20% of 20% of software developers are the most valuable kind of developers. These are the employees that are the most effective, they want to get the job done right the first time, and they find the best way to do their jobs. These are the developers that try and keep up with technology and innovation. These are also the employees that are constantly trying to learn and grow. I couldn’t help but think that he was talking about people like Bernd.

I know Bernd will be successful with anything he puts his mind to. I am so proud of him and I can’t wait to see what he does with his career. I wish him the best and hope that he finds all of the success that he desires. I am lucky to call him my husband. I am grateful for his dedication to provide for his family and our future.
Thanks to our family that came to support Bernd at his graduation and also to those that were there in spirit!
